General Info & Disclaimer

This section of the site is about running the HAProxy Community Edition on Windows.  Although it is intended to run on Linux, it is possible to build it on Windows using Cygwin and related tools to build it on Windows.

I've tested the builds on Windows thoroughly and they work exactly the same as builds made on Linux.  They are however provided without any warranty!  Use these builds and information in your own responsibility.  They rely on libraries from Cygwin which are also provided without support or guarantee.

What is HAProxy?

HAProxy is a free, very fast and reliable reverse-proxy offering high availability, load balancing, and proxying for TCP and HTTP-based applications. It is particularly suited for very high traffic web sites and powers a significant portion of the world's most visited ones. Over the years it has become the de-facto standard opensource load balancer, is now shipped with most mainstream Linux distributions, and is often deployed by default in cloud platforms. Since it does not advertise itself, we only know it's used when the admins report it :-)
